First, we will take 3D digital impressions with advanced technology called an E4D machine. Relying on computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), the machine is a multifaceted chair-side tool. This allows us to avoid using the putty-filled metal trays commonly used in traditional impressions, saving you time and potential discomfort.
Within minutes, we will upload your images into the E4D system. Based on precise measurements, we will utilize computer software to design a crown that fits the patient’s mouth dimensions, the color of your surrounding teeth, and other characteristics for a crown that blends seamlessly into your smile.
The final step in the process is the physical creation of your crown. The machine will mill the dental crown out of a solid ceramic block. We will then permanently place the crown over your existing tooth, for a completed restoration.
